Alive

How lonesome are
the great blue waves
Who travel 'cross
blue seas

Naive
and unsuspecting
How really short
life is

Each single one
unique
In shape and form
and speed

Yet all of them
eventually
The same sad end
shall meet

So close to one another they
Yet join for briefest greets
Not more then once
Not even twice
For less then a heartbeat

Silently they sail the seas
Until they break ashore
Where sudden death
awaits their kind
The kind who'll
be no more
